The purpose of Seattle IRL is to be a safe space where we can have fun, make meaningful connections, and share rich experiences. Please familiarize yourself with our etiquette and Community Guidelines below 💛
Etiquette
Be Yourself
We’re here for the same reason, to foster meaningful and genuine connections. It’s natural to feel nervous! Spark conversations, join and create events, and be yourself.
Be Respectful
Our community is built on positivity, friendship, and respect - both to each other, and the places we attend. Make others feel comfortable and foster a safe environment for all.
Be Inclusive
We all have our own experiences, appearances, and perspectives. Be open and welcoming as you make new connections and learn about one another.
These principles are intended to be high-level. See below for specific rules that govern behavior as a member of the Seattle IRL community. It is expected that everyone will adhere to them, and violation of these rules could lead to removal from group participation.
Rules
Our community is built in the spirit of positivity and respect. Clearly established guidelines allow our members to participate in a safe and nurturing environment. When you participate in Seattle IRL events or chats, you agree to abide by the following rules.
To ensure the safety and wellbeing of our community, the following guidelines will be utilized for all individuals who participate in Seattle IRL:
- Respect is essential to every interaction within our community. Any speech, behavior, and/or interaction from a member will be governed by respect amongst all participants.
- Safety is paramount for every event, communication, and individual within the community. Bullying, threats of violence, physically aggressive behavior, hate speech, harassment, or other forms of character degradation and activity which creates an environment of risk or endangers the wellbeing of others is unacceptable. There is zero tolerance for activities that subject others to physical or mental harm.
- Discrimination is strictly prohibited. Seattle IRL does not discriminate in events or activities on the basis of sex, race, creed, religion, color, national origin, age, veteran or military status, sexual orientation, gender expression or identity, disability.
- Private subgroups within the community have been established to protect and foster unique experiences and shared perspectives. Individuals who are invited to participate in these private subgroups should keep the content of communications private in order to preserve the integrity of confidential information. Screenshots, sharing of private communications, or any other form of confidence breach are unacceptable.
- The purpose of our community is to foster meaningful connections. Advertising, promoting, or otherwise representing any business or commercial interests (whether personal or otherwise) is not permitted.
